John Ellison – Back [CD]

With the release of his new CD John Ellison’s 40-year recording career is back on a high note not heard since his first hit, “(She’s) Some Kind of Wonderful,” arrived with the Soul Brothers Six in 1967. His mesmerizing performances continue to enchant audiences from Europe to Asia, while his songs and recordings have been recently used by artists like Joss Stone and D.J. Shadow. His own new rockin’ version of his classic is the exception to the all new tracks written and recorded for this CD, an R&B feast that rings the heights of playfulness to the depths of soulful despair. Ellison’s unique and recognizable voice, like his music, are as current as today and nostalgic as 60’s R&B.
