It was released on May 6, 2022, throughRCA Records.[2]The album was produced byHoward Bensonand by the band themselves.[3]It is the band’s third album to featureMatt Walstas lead vocalist, and their last as a quartet, as founding vocalistAdam Gontierrejoined Three Days Grace in 2024, with Walst remaining in the band as well.

Explosionsis also Three Days Grace’s first album not to be released three years after the preceding album, a tradition set by their first six releases.
